Costello’s Ace Hardware has opened locations in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Henrico, Virginia. The stores are already serving customers, with public grand-opening celebrations scheduled for Oct. 23–25 in West Chester and Nov. 6–8 in Henrico.
Costello’s Ace Hardware has opened two stores in West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Henrico, Virginia, expanding its retail presence in both communities. The West Chester location opened Sept. 25, while the Henrico store began serving customers Oct. 9; each is planning a public grand-opening celebration.
The West Chester store is approximately 11,000 square feet and is open for business, according to the report by Hardware Retailing. Its three-day grand-opening celebration is scheduled for Friday, Oct. 23, through Sunday, Oct. 25, 2026. The opening date and celebration dates are distinct: customers can shop before the formal event.
The Henrico location is approximately 12,000 square feet and opened to customers on Friday, Oct. 9. The company says the store is designed for homeowners, do-it-yourself customers and local professionals, offering products and services for routine maintenance, repairs and home-improvement projects.
Henrico’s grand-opening festivities are planned for Nov. 6–8, 2026. Costello’s says the event will invite residents, business leaders and community organizations to visit, meet the store team and participate. A chainsaw board-cutting ceremony is planned for Friday, Nov. 6.
Two Stores Begin Serving Local Customers
The immediate change for residents is practical: customers in West Chester and Henrico now have another local retail option for hardware and home-project supplies. The company describes the Henrico store as serving homeowners, DIY customers and local professionals, although it has not provided details about specific departments, services or product availability.
The openings also mark an expansion for a family-run retailer into two communities. CEO Michael Costello framed each opening as a commitment to building customer relationships, not simply adding a sales location. That is the company’s stated aim; whether either store becomes a regular destination for local shoppers will depend on factors such as its selection, service and customers’ needs.
The scheduled celebrations give residents a chance to see the new stores and meet employees. They are separate from the store openings, which have already taken place, so shoppers do not need to wait for those events to visit.

Costello’s Ace Hardware describes itself as a family business with more than 50 years in the hardware business. The report does not provide a broader company store count or detail how the two locations fit into a larger expansion plan.
